Description
East facing decomposed granite soils at 225 metres on the middle of a hillside at Saint Pierre de Boeuf, the grapes are destemmed, 3 week vinification, a few pumping overs, part vat emptying/refilling, a few cap punchings, aged in used 228-litre casks 12 months, usually fined, unfiltered. Perfumed and vibrant, notes of black berry fruit, black pepper as well as slight smokiness from the oak barrel. Generous black fruits, nice concentration and texture, persistence, well-fruited appeal. Long and elegant spicy finish.
