No blurred lines here, from one of Huet's strongest vintages of the decade this is a gorgeous 2007 that's drinking beautifully. Ripe stone fruits, beeswax, pink grapefruit, musky spices and white flowers all combine on the nose and palate. The depth of fruit in the mouth comes only from passerillage (no botrytis) and is balanced by super racy acidity and extract. The long, tangy finish is worth the price of admission alone. 24 gm residual.
"Residual sugar 24 g/l here. This feels somewhat more classically styled and concentrated than Le Haut Lieu in this vintage. It is minerally, reductive, restrained, with emerging notes of honeyed apples, white peaches and flowers. The palate is quite soft and rich at first, but there is a delicately pointed, needle-like acidity at its core giving it a very fine definition." 17.5/20 points, Chris Kissack, thewinedoctor.com
