Tasting Notes

Produced by the Brunier brothers of Domaine Vieux Telegraphe in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the 2018 Les Pallieres Rose, made from Gigondas fruit, is an early contender for our Rose of the Year, if such an award existed! Made from 1/3 each of Grenache, Cinsault and Clairette (a white grape popular of the Rhone Valley) and matured exclusively in large 650l oak barrels, this is a full-flavoured, yet elegantly fashioned rose of silky texture and clear definition. The wine is full of citrus, peach and orange fruit, with spice notes and a stony mineralité on the long finish.

"Expansive strawberry, nectarine and orange zest scents, along with lively floral and mineral accents. Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, offering concentrated red berry, pit fruit and lavender flavors that are braced by a spine of dusty minerality. The mineral and pit fruit notes carry through the finish, which lingers with strong tenacity." - Vinous
