"These three brothers founded their House in 2005, but did have a lot of experience in the Champagne world as their full name is Frerejean-Taittinger! They have many family vineyards especially in the Côte des Blancs, and their speciality is Chardonnay. Some of the vines are over 40 years old. This is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir & 50% Chardonnay. It is well structured and has great complexity – with evidence of excellent minerality.
There are layers of marinated pears, new blueberries and baked apples covered with honeyed almonds. The minerality shines and yet the wine is not austere. Streaks of vanilla and gentle spices appear with a layer of salinity and notes of umami. The liqueur d’expédition is only 3 grams but sufficient to make this a rich and perfectly balanced Champagne with energetic acid.
