Arnaud Baillot's house style is one of purity and aesthetics. If there were one village in Burgundy where these features are most wanted, its Volnay. The utter beauty and proportions of Volnay are preserved by Baillot's gentle hand. The 1er Cru Mitans is difficult to find, and thankfully this vineyard has now found its way into Baillot's full time offering. The 2022 Baillot Mitans 1er Cru is one of the most beautiful young Burgundy you will find. Roses, bursting red fruits, and classy control of weight and tannins. This was a wow wine for me and could simply come from no where else in the world other than Volnay!
