Description
"One of the outstanding domaines of the vintage – bravo!" - Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report
Made from 50 year old vines. South-West facing. Aged in 500L barrels for 1 year and then transferred to stainless steel for 8 months. Lying to the west bank of the Chablis Grand Cru appellation, Bougros is a tiny vineyard sheltered from the wind. The hillside positioning allows the sun to penetrate the vines for long hours. Soils of Bougros are naturally draining with deep Kimmeridgian soil made of fossilised oysters known as ‘Exogyra Virgula’
"A faint oaky spice and a more generous width of aroma at the base. Ooh – but what tension!! Round and mouth-filling but ultra-Chablis in the same breath. That’s a great wine!" - Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report
"The 2022 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru has an enchanting fresh and vibrant bouquet, citrus lemon, apple blossom and crushed stone blossoming from the glass. The 2022 is very well-defined. The palate is fresh and crisp with real edginess. With lovely depth and palpable energy with just a touch of reduction on the finish, this is one of the best Grand Crus in 2022. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis." - 96 Points - Neil Martin, Vinous
