Description
"The 2021 vintage brought lower than average yields and cooler conditions throughout the growing season. Fruit quality was excellent with small bunches and berries providing superb concentration of flavours, fine supple tannins and good acid balance. The hallmarks of power, concentration, complexity and great length feature in this wine. Alluring aromas of spice and black cherries, ripe raspberries and plums combine with a subtle perfume of game, truffle and cedar. The vibrant palate is smooth and even with an abundance of ripe berry and plum flavours intermingled with sweet oak nuances, fine savoury tannins and a velvety mouthfeel. Silky texture and gamey, intriguing forest floor characteristics will develop with careful cellaring over 10 to 15 years. A magnificent wine reflecting the unique terroir of a very special site." - Winemaker Notes
"A lovely youthful cherry red in appearance. Lifted, perfumed aromas of cherry, blueberry, dried herbs, briar, underbrush, nutty oak and earth. There's a lot happening on the nose. The palate is plush with cherry, wild strawberry, spice and woodsy flavours. There's layers of complexity and the shapely tannins and snappy acidity all contribute to a very smart pinot noir." - 95 Points, Aaron Brasher, The Real Review
