Description
"Cabernet Sauvignon is a speciality of Helm Wines and the Canberra District is perfectly suited to growing this wonderful variety. They planted their vines in 1973. Helm Wines has been successfully making Cabernet sauvignon and Cabernet blends since 1979 and has attracted numerous wine show awards and favourable critic reviews. The Canberra District region has similarities to Bordeaux and is influenced by evening easterly winds in summer (known as Bateman’s breath) which ensure cool nights and bring a hint of salt from the ocean (at Bateman’s Bay).
The Classic Cabernet sauvignon 2019 shows the deep red hue typical of Cabernet from the Canberra District, with a rich berry and spicy bouquet. Two+ years maturation in French oak of varying age up to 4 years has created an outstanding wine of soft tannins, rich dark fruit and cherry palate with a sweet oak finish. Enjoy now or cellar to 2030." - Winemaker Notes
