Description
// 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Shiraz
"This a spectacular Aussie claret style; poised, focused and built for the long haul with its powerful blackberry, chocolate, blackcurrant, gravel aromas that are muscular and dense. Fantastic volume of fruit follows but all kept in check by layers of firm tannin and a gentle burst of acidity. A cloak of high quality oak sits well in what is a robust style which finishes tight and long. One of the best vintages of this hallowed label which offers almost unbelievable value. If you are going to buy one wine for the cellar this year, make it this one." - 97 Points, Angus Hughson, Wine Pilot
"Matured 18 months in French oak barriques (50% new). The 2018 vintage was the second warmest on record after 2016. A ripe year has undoubtedly imparted more warmth and roundness to this wine, but it remains resolutely medium bodied and finely tuned. Fragrant with cabernet’s wild berries, violet and bush herbs in the lead role. Comes together seamlessly to taste, a perfect specimen of the great Aussie red blend, with even a touch of local menthol on the finish as proof." - 95 Points, Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
