Among the 55,000 acres (22,000 hectares) of vineyards planted in the Beaujolais region (south of Burgundy), about 15,000 acres (6,000 hectares) use the name Beaujolais Villages AOC, which is the intermediary appellation between the Beaujolais and the 10 Crus.

The Beaujolais Villages “Combe aux Jacques” is vinified similarly to other wines of the region, with a semi carbonic maceration. Part is vinified in the Maison Louis Jadot winery at Combe aux Jacques, and part is bought as wine from good, long- term growers.
