Description
"One of the outstanding domaines of the vintage – bravo!" - Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report
Montmains is located on the left bank of the Serein river. Made from 80 year old vines on a plot of 0.66 ha sitting on the border with Fôrets. The Premier Cru Montmains is marked by its terroir: a very stony soil generating intense mineral aromas of extraordinary power. This terroir, especially when grapes come from old vines, produces excellent wines with a solid aptitude for ageing. Aged for 12 months in 35hl old oak vat, 1 vat produced, without intervention, then stainless- steel tank for 5 months on fine lees.
"Open freshness, a complexity of saline notes – almost airy. Cooler, complex, growing in intensity – oh yes! Another year – another purchase!" - Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report
