Description
"Initially there is enough reduction to notice though several minutes of aggressive swirling eventually coaxes notably floral aromas of various red berries, warm earth, spice and a hint of exotic tea, all surrounded by subtle but perceptible wood. The dense, powerful and muscular flavors possess excellent intensity before culminating in a dusty, sappy and youthfully austere finish. The supporting tannins are dense but reasonably fine and this should easily reward 15+ years of cellaring though be approachable after 7 to 10 years.” - 93 Points, BurgHound
“The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru "Cuvée Classique" has a fragrant nose with red berry fruit, still that touch of struck flint, fine focus with just a touch of reduction at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grip on the entry, quite chalky tannins, white pepper towards the prolonged finish. Just as I expected having tasted this in barrel last year, this Cuvée Classique is ageing with style.” - 93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous
