Description
100% Syrah. A blend of vineyards from both the Côte Blonde (more white soils, giving wines of elegance and finesse) and the Côte Brune (darker soils with more ironstone, giving deeper and more structured wines).
"Ripe nose, dark fruits and savoury notes. A note of bacon fat, spice and vanilla with firm rounded tannins and blue fruits. A rich and weighty style showing good fruit concentration and power – hefty and muscular but showing good freshness and fine sculpted tannins." - 17.5+ Points, Alistair Cooper MW, JancisRobinson.com
"Subtle floral and herb notes join blueberries and black cherries on the nose of the 2019 Cote Rotie Seigneur de Maugiron. It's a lush, fruit-filled effort, medium to full-bodied, with soft tannins and a long, silky-textured finish. It should drink well young but keep for a decade or more." - 91 Points, Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate
