Description
"Usually a little shy, sometimes downright reserved in his first years, Corton-Charlemagne is proof, if proof were needed, that although 2022 is a great vintage for laying down, it is also quite open and expressive at this early stage. The nose reveals generous but fresh fruit with some exotic notes of pineapple and physalis. It has the potential to grow, so even though the temptation is real, be patient." - Winemaker Notes
"The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is located in the "Pougets" lieu-dit towards the top of the south/southeast facing part of the hill on red clay soils. The nose, more refined than its peers, offers lemon verbena mixed with chai tea and almonds. The palate is well-balanced with gentle grip and quite sapid in the mouth. It’s not a Corton-Charlemagne with huge matières, but it delivers in terms of tension and freshness on the finish. Excellent." - 93-95 points, Neil Martin for Vinous
