Description

"One of the outstanding domaines of the vintage – bravo!" - Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report

One of the most spectacular Premiers Crus of Chablis, an abundance of fossilised outcrops can be found in the soil here. Made from 40 to 50 year old vines, South to South-West facing separated from the Grand Cru of ‘Les Blanchots’ by a narrow ravine. 50% of the wine is aged in 500L old oak and 50% in cement egg. This is the first year the Domaine uses a cement egg for the ageing as lees work and texture are very important in this wine.

"What a nose – more dimensions here. Super volume in the mouth – pushed by some retained CO2 – but the energy and juiciness work beautifully in tandem – only in the middle flavours a fleeting hint barrel – that’s a great wine for sure!" - Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report
