Description

"The always thoughtful Christophe Thibert told me that 2019 is "a much more typical vintage than 2018 with not much volume but fine quality. The growing season was again very hot and dry with no particular disease pressure, so the fruit was both quite ripe and spotless which enabled us to pick quickly. Volumes were reasonable at around 40 hl/ha, which isn't high but it's not a problem either. As to the wines, they have good densities, good typicity and given that they're nicely concentrated, they should drink well young but also age well over the mid-term." Thibert noted that once again he reduced the amount of wood influence just as he had done for the 2018 and 2017 vintages." - Winemaker Note

"An overtly lemon-suffused nose reflects notes of mineral reduction, apple and a hint of acacia blossom. The middle weight flavors aren't especially dense, but they possess both excellent delineation and punch before culminating in a very dry, lightly stony and youthfully austere finale." - 87-89 Point Burghound

"Exposed west, harvested after the previous wine – soils that have more active limestone. A more direct nose – freshness and even a little minerality. Faint gas – broad, melting and mineral – some ripe citrus but more in the direction of lime than lemon. Yes – I remember the limes of 2019! Super wine – really excellent, possibly great for the label."-  Bill Nanson, The Burgundy Report
