"Ghiaccio Forte represents our family’s dedication to the local tradition of cultivating Sangiovese in the Morellino di Scansano appellation. Sandro and Filippo Chia’s profound passion for, and knowledge of, Sangiovese, and constant pursuit of quality, have produced this terroir driven expression. The wine macerates on the skins before gentle pressing, then undergoes malolactic fermentation. The resulting wine is concentrated yet silky, translucent in color, and bears the hallmark traits of a pure terroir driven Sangiovese." - Winemaker Notes
"Red cherry, raspberry, tobacco and dried herbs, almond and flowers. Medium-bodied, fresh with a plenty of crunch to acidity and a pleasingly rustic, yet mineral, grip to tannin, the finish is savoury with tobacco and new leather, and pretty solid length.
