Description
"The organic certified estate has existed since the 18th century, it's situated next to the renowned Château de Cheval Blanc and Château Figeac. Château Jean Faure is also part of the Saint Emilion Grand Cru classement as it produces wines with a high finesse level expected of a top-tier Saint Emilion of the appellation .
The estate wine is a blend of their younger vines and has been made as an approachable style upon release. 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot. Aged for 9 months in large concrete vats. No oak." - Importer's Note
"The nose is fruity and offers a peppery side and a small power. It reveals notes of boysenberry, crushed wild strawberry and small notes of dried blueberry associated with an almost fig-like hint of blond tobacco and a subtle vanilla touch. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, freshness, suppleness as well as a beautiful juiciness and freshness of the fruit. There are notes of juicy blackcurrant, quite ripe blackberry as well as touches of camphor associated with crushed berries and a hint of strawberry. Floral nuances mingle with an almost bergamot note and a discreet touch of vanilla essence. Tannins offer a fine firmness." - 14.5+/20, Choukron Jonathan
