Description

"100% wild ferment with a natural malolactic ferment. Completely destemmed, whole berry and carbonic maceration. Gentle pump overs twice a day for 14 x days at a cooler fermenting temperature. Gently pressed via a perforated basket press. Matured in 40% older seasoned French Oak for 9 x months, remainder in stainless steel to retain freshness. Pretty and immediately expressive, multi layered aromas of raspberry, dried cherries, lifted spices and rhubarb. Medium bodied with layers of tannins and savoury earthy flavours balanced with a textured waves of spicy fruit. Complex, soft on the palate with a fineness and elegance counter balanced with generosity and depth of texture that speaks of it’s munda (land or country)." - Winemaker Notes

“Attractive and pretty, super perfumed Vine Vale Grenache that talks of raspberries, those rare wild raspberries that you don’t find at the supermarket so easily nowadays. Then it’s preserved strawberries, raisin (dried cranberries), wet red clay and dried bushes, and those unique scents of the Australian countryside that I’m too ignorant (and not grown up amongst) to call by names. The palate is sweet red fruited, yet earthy and savoury and full of dried extract. It almost feels like someone has harvested wild red berries, native herbs and has squeezed them all together into the wine. More I smell and taste this wine and more perfumed notes are inundating my nose and palate. The length is reserved and ultra-fine, perhaps shying away from the striking mid-palate.” - 95 Points, Lisa Cardelli, Wine Pilot
