The latest single vineyard release from Anna and Matthew Pooley down in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, the Butcher's Hill Pinot Noir is always as pristine as the landscape on which it grows, packed with perfumes of spiced cherries, cranberries, cocoa and truffle. Compared to the entry-level Pinot, this one holds some firm minerality and a mouth-coating line of acidity that carries on and on with some cedar, dark peppery notes and ultra-fine tannins. It is Tasmania at the top of its game. Once gone, this one tends to disappear for a good while, so we say get in quick! - Our Notes
