Description
"It's fresh and powerful at the same time, with fleshy white stone fruit notes, brioche and biscuit accents. The fresh fruit nuance / autolysis profile is in perfect harmony here and finishes brisk and satisfying.
The layered and textured Pinot Meunier dominant Réserve Brut is described by the Fournier family as a photograph of the domaine. Based on the 2016 harvest, it features 80% Pinot Meunier, 10% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir (the planting proportions of the vineyard) as well as 40% reserve wines, coming primarily from the previous 2 harvests. Tiraged in 2017, the wine was disgorged in May 2023, having spent the best part of 5 years on lees.
Found in the western reaches of the Valle de la Marne, the history of the estate stretches back to the 1930s - the Fourniers farm 15ha of glorious vines, spread across 12 villages and a mind-boggling 45 different plots, featuring a high proportion of chalk which ensure the wines are rich and juicy as well as focused and energetic." - Cellarhand, Importer's Notes
