Description

"This wine offers a bouquet that is the perfect marriage between the wood used in the ageing process (toasted bread) and the aromas of the grape variety (pear and lemon). It pleasantly stimulates the nose with its aromatic complexity: hawthorn, chalk, lemon and a slight touch of hazelnut. The palate is generous, crisp, with an undercurrent of gentle acidity frame that flatters the taste buds. An ample and powerful attack opens on to a dense palate, perfectly balanced by a very fine slightly saline minerality. The elegant, yet structured, finish adds a noble touch to this great Saint-Véran. A hardy and well-designed bottle, made for long-term storing." - Winemaker Note

“An aromatic that’s reserved, still with a width of slightly golden fruit but vibrant too. Mouth-filling, mouth-watering, flavour that melts over the palate – rounder than the incisive directness of the last wine. Slowly, deliciously, fading flavour. A very different shape, almost P-F style.” - Bill Nanson, The Burgundy Report
“A less evolved and backward nose offers up notes of wood, citrus zest and a mix of white and yellow peach. There is again excellent volume and richness to the punchy middle weight flavors that are an appealing combination of volume and finesse, all wrapped in a bone-dry but not really austere finish that is shaped by citrus-tinged acidity. Worth checking out." - 89-92 Points Outstanding Burghound
