The estate property of Barr-Eden is a distinctive piece of Eden Valley land with a 150+ year history. The estate farms 15 hectares of vineyard which is spread over the crown of Mengler’s Hill, situated at one of the highest points between both the Eden and Barossa Valleys; the higher altitude resulting in a longer ripening period. Low yields are enforced in the vineyard, and in the winery the fruit is completely de-stemmed, with a soft vinification on skins to enhance the purity of the aromatics. This is a really impressive high-toned and medium-bodied Shiraz, featuring all the red fruit and spice of the Eden.
