Description
Grown at the Hill Block in Piccadilly’s Summertown and Quinns Road in Forreston. At an elevation of 550m and a steep south-facing aspect the Hill Block produces low-yielding, taut and intensely aromatic fruit. Quinns Road lies to the north-east at 500m elevation and delivers body and texture for this “fumé” style Sauvignon Blanc. Hand-picked on the 17th and 22nd of March, destemmed, 8% fermented on skins, the remainder pressed and wild yeast fermented in French oak puncheons. Matured for eight months in barrel, filtered and bottled." - Winemaker Notes
"Very pale lemon with lime tints in the glass. Lime curd, dried papaya, and a smoky hint on the nose. A medium-bodied style of sauvignon blanc with a depth of mandarin and smoky honey notes. Acidity offers a guiding hand, and it flows quite long with a hint of phenolics that dries the finish well." - 92 Points, Stuart Knox, The Real Review
