Description

"First planted by Maurice O’Shea in 1921, the vineyard was propagated using cuttings from Mount Pleasant’s Old Hill vineyard first planted in 1880.   The perfect site for shiraz, the block sits mid-way up a gentle rise and is sheltered from the afternoon sun and wind, providing a wine abundant in fruit richness, natural tannin, and power." - Winemaker Notes

"Deep red-purple colour; the bouquet suggests dried herbs and stems along with mixed spices including pepper and fivespice, a hint of ironstone; the wine enters the palate with dramatic intent and purpose and powers along with great intensity and firm supportive tannins to a long finish. A superb shiraz that begs to be cellared for best results." - 97 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
