Chardonnay Tasting Lineup (Saturday 12th November) from 12 to 2pm -

A Rodda Beechworth Chardonnay - $48 special price ; $54 RRP

"Intense aromas of ripe white stone fruit and citrus pith are complexed with grilled almonds and ginger spice. The seamless amalgam of lees, natural acidity and chalky phenolics creates a mouthfeel that is full and creamy yet long, intense and savoury." - Winemaker Notes

2020 Man O'War Waiheke Island Valhalla Chardonnay - $50 special price ; $58 RRP

"2020 Valhalla exhibits toasty complexity over a range of citrus notes from lime characters to mandarin. The palate is rich and textural with a fresh succulent finish that belies its concentration. 2020 was a drought year which often presents challenges in creating wines that are fresh and zesty. The 2020 Valhalla is classical in its style being linear, structured and age worthy typical of some of the great wines of the world." - Winemaker Notes

2021 Meadowbank Tasmania Chardonnay - $52 special price ; $59 RRP

"A delicious, textured and aromatic wine which provides you with a delightfully crisp and pure expression of our cool-climate vineyard. With classic Chardonnay flavours of white peach and lemon curd, combined with a perfect balance of richness, zestiness and earthiness, you will feel as though you have been instantly transported to our hidden valley in southern Tasmania. 2021 is a vintage to celebrate, in fact we're calling it as one of our best ever! Low grape yields, intense fruit concentration and a steady ripening period have produced something really special here." - Winemaker Notes

2020 Domaine Francois Carillon Bourgogne Blanc - $69 special price ; $79 RRP

"A pure Chardonnay nose with a bit of vanilla bean. On the palate, very creamy like ice cream, quite pungent and round at the same time. Shows nice mineral and floral elements, some sweet and sour and some grapefruit flavors. A very lively finish – excellent for a Bourgogne Blanc." - Winemaker Notes

2021 Bannockburn Geelong SRH Chardonnay - $78 special price ; $89 RRP

"Medium-depth yellow colour leads into a shyly reserved bouquet which speaks of buttery shortbread, dried citrus peels and butterscotch which is more evident on the palate, where the wine is very intense and even quite powerful, with a long-lasting carry loaded with penetrating lemon/grapefruit flavours. The aftertaste is refreshing and full of energy. A delicious and very impressive chardonnay." - 97 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review

"Terrifically good. Flavour and line, character and freshness. Yellow stonefruit and cedar, pine/mint and white flowers, a subtle smokiness. The thing that really impresses is the way texture is folded through and, moreso, the way it establishes its power from the outset but still manages to kick into another, more powerful gear through the finish. This is a truly gorgeous wine." - 96 Points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

2021 Pierro Margaret River Chardonnay - $96 special price ; $110 RRP

"This is a wine of great finesse yet impressive power, tight structure yet generosity of flavour. Ripe melony, peachy characters yet noticeable restraint and subtlety. An unctuous mouth-feel yet with taut, fine acidity on the finish. It will start to be at its best about June 2023 and will continue to mature gracefully for another 10 years. An ideal accompaniment to seafood and white meat dishes. Ideal cellaring temperature is a constant 14-16 degrees celsius." - Winemaker Notes

2019 Joseph Faiveley Meursault - $120 special price ; $140 RRP

"Grapes are harvested by hand and sorted upon arrival at the domaine. Following primary fermentation, the wine is matured in oak barrels for 13 to 15 months, in nineteenth century vaulted cellars which provide ideal conditions for raising wines. The proportion of new oak, which is susceptible to variations according to the vintage, represents on average one third of the cuvée. The barrels come from high-quality barrel makers and have been rigorously selected for their fine grain and light toast. A brilliant pale yellow color. The attractive aromas of white and yellow fruits mix with light woody notes. On the palate, this wine meets up to the expectations of its aromas: it has a round and full attack before the vanillary and toasty tastes reveal themselves. Good long-lasting aromas. The finish is slightly acidic." - Winemaker Notes

2019 Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Chardonnay - $148 special price ; $169 RRP

"Bright gold in color and incredibly aromatic, the ripeness of the vintage is most pronounced initially; melon, perfume, and orange blossom slowly give way to fresh peach, honeysuckle and apricot. There’s very little overt oak influence on the nose, although it comes across subtly in the background as pie crust and toast. It’s the suppleness and silky mouthfeel that strike first, although there’s abundant mango and citrus with Meyer lemon here as well. The minerality is chalky and distinct, a beautiful contrast that layers in with the acid adding both complexity and depth. There’s slightly more wood on the transition to the finish, surfacing as baking spice and crème brûlée. However, they’re handily overwhelmed by notes of Asian pear, mango and pineapple—absolutely delicious. In time, expect hazelnut and almond to appear." - Winemaker Notes
