Prophet's Rock & Burn Cottage Tasting Lineup - Saturday 17th of February
Running from 12 to 2pm
Prophet's Rock Dry Riesling 2020 - $40 on special; $46 RRP
"This wine represents a very small portion of our overall production but has always been a strong focus for Prophet’s Rock. We farm our aromatic whites to the same high standard in the vineyard as our top Pinot Noir, and take time through all aspects of production to ensure that the wine we release is the best reflection of the site it can be. This is a dry style with bright aromatics and great concentration. The freshness and texture make it an easy food match." - Winemaker Notes
"An attractive nose of lemon curd, fresh thyme, rosemary, white peaches and freshly cut grass. Medium-bodied. Mineral and succulent with rounded fruit character. Fresh acidity. Delicious and dry." - 93 Points, James Suckling
///
Prophet's Rock Rocky Point Pinot Noir 2021 - $45 on special; $52 RRP
"This vibrant and structured Pinot Noir is from our ridiculously steep and very rocky vineyard on the north-facing slopes above Lake Dunstan. The grapes from this low-yielding vintage were handpicked, wild-fermented in small lots and aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. Always a very perfumed Pinot Noir, this wine has fine tannins and an elegant profile making it a great food wine and a great candidate for further cellaring." - Winemaker Notes
///
Prophet's Rock Pinot Gris 2022 - $50 on special; $57 RRP
"This Pinot Gris amazingly consistent in style and quality, sweet pear and red apple aromas with hints of white spice and white flowers. The palate is medium in body with concentrated fruit notes and finishes with a splash of acidity, followed by crunchy mineral and light phenolics adding to the complexity and giving structure to the wine. This comes from a classic’ vintage for Central Otago. A warm summer followed by a long fine autumn giving the wines ripeness whilst retaining great freshness. The structure and weight of this wine makes it a versatile food match from seafood to white meats. This wine will continue to cellar well for further complexity over the next 7-10 years." - Winemaker Notes
"Aromas of baked pear and saffron, followed by button mushrooms and savory dried herbs. Off-dry, medium-bodied with a vivid acid backbone. Fascinating wine with plenty of zesty complexity." - 93 Points, James Suckling

Prophet's Rock Home Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022 - $78 on special; $89 RRP
"The foundation of this wine is our focus on delivering low-yielding concentrated fruit that expresses our vineyard. In the winery, we employ traditional old world techniques; the grapes are handled gently and the wines are fermented using only the indigenous yeast from the vineyard. The wines are aged in barrel for 15-18 months before being bottled unfiltered, and are cellared before release. Concentrated and elegant with red and dark fruit, spectacular baking spices combined with smoky oak and the signature integrated tannin structure, this seamless wine with its velvety texture will leave you wanting more. Cellaring will reward collectors over the next 10+ years from vintage." - Winemaker Notes
"A fantastic pinot with dried strawberries, orange peel, terra-cotta, and dried leaves. It’s full and very layered with creamy and fine tannins that go on for minutes. Plenty of depth and very long with tension and a beautifully creamy, velvety finish." - 97 Points, James Suckling
///
Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir 2021 - $66 on special; $75 RRP
"From vintage 2021 our Moonlight Race comprises three sites that we farm ourselves: our estate vineyards Burn Cottage Vineyard in Lowburn, and Sauvage Vineyard in Bannockburn, along with the Luna vineyard in Bannockburn. The blend of these three special sites produces our vibrant expression of classic Central Otago Pinot Noir. Bright cherry and plum notes complement spice, pepper and savoury earthy complexity. Layered and expressive, there is a core of supple fruit and fine textural tannins extending through the palate. Whilst approachable now, expected cellaring potential is up to 7 years" - Winemaker Notes
"Supple, elegant pinot noir with floral/red rose supported by fruit and alcohol sweetness. Deliciously drinkable now but with the potential to become even more interesting with age." - 95 Points, Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review
///
Burn Cottage Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 - $92 on special; $105 RRP
// Certified Organic
"Lovely savoury dry herb and dark earth tones partner with bright red fruits, a hint of citrus and warm spice. Initially restrained, the wine unfolds with energy, focus and layers of complexity. Silky ripe tannins and fine mineral acidity extend throughout the palate. Showing wonderful texture, layers and completeness, we expect this wine to have a cellaring potential of 8-10 years." - Winemaker Notes
///
Delta Pinot Noir 2021 - $29 on special; $33 RRP
"Aromas of dark cherry, ripe plum and black olive. A rich and fruity full bodied palate with raspberries, black plum and integrated notes of toasted oak, a fine tanin structure with a long and toasty finish. Drinking beautifully from release and will continue to mature over the next five to seven years. With fresh and vibrant red berry notes on release, the flavours will evolve and ripen over time. Excellently paired with spring lamb and roasted root vegetables." - Importer Notes
