“Robert Weil has been one of the icons of German wine culture for many years. Nothing but the finest Rieslings are produced. And as more than 100 years ago, the wines are distinguished in terms of their origins and their style.” - Stephan Reinhardt, The Finest Wines of Germany
"Another of Germany's most celebrated domaines, Weil's wines are noted for their richness and purity, delivering lots of citrus and fruit concentration, without ever seeming heavy or ponderous." - Rajat Parr & Jordan Mackay, The Sommelier's Atlas of Taste
---
Some of the greatest Riesling wines on earth emanate from the cellars of Robert Weil in the Rheingau, Germany! Specialising both in bone dry and sweet, these are wines of stunning fruit intensity, purity and vitality. Of course they age brilliantly, but they're also immensely drinkable as young wines. We're thrilled to open (almost) their entire range, including the seriously limited single vineyards, Spatlese and Auslese! We will have these on pour at our tasting instore Wednesday (3rd May) from 4:30 to 6pm!
We have Nicolas Langer-Pfaff to host, who has been working with the estate for almost a decade now and knows these drops and what defines them inside and out. Alongside Natasha Arnavas from Bibendum, they'll be your guides to this really special lineup that is undoubtedly Riesling at the top of its game. These wines are always highly sought-after by collectors, but we also want to show off just how versatile and delicious these are now as young wines, so come join in for a bit of midweek fun!
**If you can't make the tasting but still wish to order some bottles you may do so via the link here, and down below.**
Tasting Lineup (2021 Releases)
Complimentary Tasting - Wednesday 3rd May
4.30pm to 6pm
---
Rheingau Riesling Trocken - $57 on special ; $65 RRP
"Expect a seamless weave of citrus and stone fruits supported by slate-like minerality and zesty vibrancy. This is already a world-class Riesling and it’s only the beginning of the range!" - Bibendum
“Enticing spring blossom, white peach and Amalfi lemon aromas with a touch of herbal freshness. Elegant and racy with a tight core of wet stone minerality and fine tannins. Very crisp and bright finish. For a basic dry riesling this should age extremely well.” - 91 Points, Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com

Kiedricher Riesling Trocken - $66 on special ; $76 RRP
"The Riesling Kabinett is light and lovely, with lush exotic fruit aromas and a poised balance of bright acidity and lacy natural sweetness." - Winemaker Notes
"Wonderfully floral and animating, but also peachy and succulent. This could almost be from the world-famous Wehlener Sonnenuhr site on the Mosel thanks to the scintillating interplay of fruit and acidity, with zero perceptible alcohol. Long, wet stone finish with tons of energy." - 93 Points, JamesSuckling.com

Rheingau Riesling Kabinett Trocken - $66 on special ; $76 RRP
"Lithe and elegant aromas of wet stone, apple and lemon zest. The stony minerality shapes the outline of the wine, while the acid sets the pace and the fruit colours in the lines. Extremely long and concentrated. Delightful, stony, pithy and fun." - 17/20 Points, Paula Sidore, JancisRobinson.com
"From the higher vineyards in Kiedrich, especially Wasseros but also younger vines from Klosterberg, Turmberg and Gräfenberg, the 2021 Kiedricher Riesling Trocken offers a clear and coolish bouquet of white and yellow-fleshed fruits. Vinified two-thirds in stainless steel and one-third in large oak, this is a round and lush, pretty generous but vivacious and piquant Riesling with intense and elegant fruit, good density and a long, saline and finely grippy finish. Still young and edgy but promising." - 91+ Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
///
Kiedrich Klosterberg Riesling Trocken - $92 on special ; $105 RRP
"The 2021 Kiedrich Klosterberg Riesling Trocken is based on macerated fruit (6-18 hours) that was fermented spontaneously in 100% large oak vats. The wine was never racked, except for the bottling in late June. Full-bodied, rich and powerful yet elegant and balanced on the palate, this is a relatively smooth and saline, pretty long and crystalline Riesling with fine tannin grip and a long, aromatic finish." - 92 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
///
Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling Trocken - $92 on special ; $105 RRP
The 2021 Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling Trocken is pure and coolish on the intense and concentrated nose. From phyllite slate soils, this is a full-bodied, intense and salty-piquant, highly stimulating Riesling with lots of energy, phenolic grip and mineral tension. With fine tannin structure, the massive and concentrated body and fruit lead to a long and intense, aromatic finish." - 93 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
///
Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Spätlese - $149 on special ; $170 RRP
"The 2021 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Spätlese offers an intense, almost raisiny but also fresh and flinty bouquet with concentrated and candied fruit aromas. Rich and lush on the palate, with stimulating salinity and piquancy, this is a highly stimulating Riesling with lush, sweet and concentrated fruit. Very long and very complex, this is a fabulous Spätlese from the Gräfenberg grand cru." - 95 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
"Very ripe yellow peach, mango and mandarin orange aromas with notes of floral honey and fresh basil. Ripe, substantial and well-structured, the fresh acidity give this precise contours. Seriously creamy on the mid-palate, but the finish is super clean. Made for the long-term." - 95 Points, JamesSuckling.com
///
Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Auslese 375ml - $175 on special ; $200 RRP
"The 2021 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Auslese is pure, refined and piquant on the clear and spicy nose. Lush and round on the palate yet with enormous salinity and tension, this is a rich yet piquant, vital and tensioned Auslese with concentrated yet vivacious fruit and spectacular salinity." - 96 Points, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
"Tangerine dream nose! Stunning succulence and vitality on the very concentrated palate. The tension between the richness and electric acidity is something to be experienced. Either you’re tough enough to handle this, or not. Razor-sharp finish in spite of the high natural grape sweetness. Limited production. Enormous aging potential!" - 96 Points, JamesSuckling.com
