"The 2022 Pichon Comtesse Réserve, bottled in April 2024, has a perfumed, floral bouquet with lovely lift and a mixture of black and blueberry fruit scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a ripe entry, hints of salted licorice that tincture the black fruit and density countered by a keen line of acidity. Just a touch of balsamic livens up the finish. "The al dente fruit is so attractive with blackcurrants, dark plums and orange peel. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with tannins that start slowly, building at the end to a crescendo of intensity and power. It’s muscular and chewy but not overdone.
