With its partner in crime Merlot providing the palate weight, with fruit generosity and richness. Satsuma plums, red cherries and raspberry lift out of the glass. Backed by delicate hints of dark olives, tobacco and savoury characteristics. Soft and supple and full of flavour. Black olive, blackcurrant, raspberry and cherry fruits are accompanied by silky, soft tannins that coat the palate. It tastes of blackcurrant, chocolate, gum leaf and licorice, and once it’s had a chance to breathe it feels both buoyant with fruit and decidedly sturdy.
