Description / Reviews

"The fruit for this wine comes from a long-standing relationship with a very special vineyard in Whitlands, north east Victoria. It’s situated just north of the Mansfield-Whitfield Road, and was planted in 1995 in tertiary volcanic soils over rhyolite at 600 metres above sea level. The block has a consistent northerly aspect." - A. Rodda, Winemaker

"Immediate wafts of seaspray, green apple, hazelnut, nutmeg and brioche send the senses into overdrive. The palate is a flavoursome ride of apple, fennel, flint and freshly baked pastry, brimming with tension and drive. There's so much going on yet it's seamless and composed in both its delivery and flavour profile. A touch highly strung in its youth, which sets it up for a few years of aging. It's a brilliant example of modern Aussie chardonnay." - 96 Points, Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review (2024 Vintage)

"Sourced from one of the highest vineyards in the state, formerly Baxendale, now owned by the Dal Zotto family. Sparks and crackles in pure, cool-climate class. Some precision winemaking on show with quality fruit that simply comes alive in the glass. White flowers, wild flowers, lemon zest, grapefruit, sherbet, nectarine, peach and almond skin aromas are bright. The energy is palpable, the acidity electric and the flavours linear, integrated and elegant, delivered in a citrus and white peach clarity with almond, hazelnut, flint and spice. So stylish right through to the lingering, gentle hazelnut-oak-laced finish." - 96 Points, Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion (2024 Vintage)
