Description / Reviews
"Dolcetto is a traditional wine and a traditionally grown grape varietal. It is an indisputable sign of a marked biodiversity that is becoming less and less. The wine plays on yhe characteristics of youth: ruby and violet color, fragrant aromas between floral and fruity, full, harmonious and elegant flavour, with a pleasant bitter aftertaste." - Albino Rocca, Winemaker
"Albino Rocca’s Dolcetto d’Alba comes from four sources. Mature vines in Barbaresco and San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, southeast of Alba, have always been part of the mix. New parcels in Nieve and Treiso now make this Dolcetto a true picture of Barbaresco region. The Barbaresco vines were planted in 1960 and 1978. Thanks to their maturity and sensible yields, this wine displays more intensity and texture than many a garden-variety Dolcetto d’Alba." - Bibendum, Importer
"The 2024 Dolcetto d'Alba is bright and refreshing. Crushed flowers and red/pulish berry fruit are nicely pushed forward in this light-bodied, crisp offering from Albino Rocca. This is old school in the best way." - 90 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
