Description
"Typically Macedon in that it is lightly fruited and elegant, whilst retaining concentration from incredibly low yields (1-1.5t acre), with fine structure to support pairing with food. Power comes from the site (Parkside Estate, planted in 1998, MV6 on shallow topsoil) with contrasting finesse from Macedon’s cool climate, plus using larger format oak and targeted use of whole bunches (the selection is made on taste, in the vineyard not the winery). Darryl Ward is converting the vineyard over to organic practises. 30% new oak. A great wine that is also dangerously delicious. High quality and high drinkability do not have to be separate characteristics in wine." - Winemaker Notes
