Description / Reviews
"The 2017 growing season was cold and wet, with high crop loads and just masses of rain. Vineyard location and viticultural management (crop load, canopies and precipitation-derived disease), apart from winemaking, were key in determining the success of the wines at the end of the day. I find that many producers fell into a multitude of traps throughout the season, and the challenging wines outweigh the successes. So, this 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is supple and concentrated and a wonderful example of what was possible this year. The 2015 and this have similarities, but the 2017 is a better iteration in terms of length of flavor." - 96 Points, Erin Larkin, Robert Parker Wine Advocate (reviewed July 2023)
"This is another excellent release. So velvety, so firm, so plush and powerful. Blackcurrant and mint, violet undergrowth, cedar-cream and tobacco. It has lift and verve but it’s essentially brooding. It walks in your front door and heads straight to the cellar for a lie down. It’s a beautiful example of the cabernet breed." - 95 Points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front (reviewed March 2020)
