"Monthelie 1er Cru "Les Champs Fulliot" is a famous climat of Monthelie. This vineyard is located between Volnay 1er Cru Clos des chênes and Meursault 1er Cru Les Caillerets. Les Champs Fulliot terroir is particularity distinguished by its red, limestone clay soils.
"A serious site evincing a savoury tannic authority amidst Monthelie's swirl of red fruits and bracken, anise and a lick of root spice. This is a more earthen expression for those who prize aromatic complexity and a firm structural lattice to compress any sense of fruit and excess.' Perhaps my favourite red of this vintage due to the tension and cool sense of composure, at least if breached now and across the shorter term." - Ned Goodwin MW
