"One of the three very great wines of this tasting. I tasted it and compared it several times with its peers. Each time, the intensity of explosive fruit gives it unparalleled harmony and scale. A sumptuous wine with notes of blood orange and Burlat cherry with deep substance without ever turning away from the finesse of its sandy soil." - 100 Points, La Revue du Vin de France

"The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Domaine Font de Courtedune reveals a floral, spicy bouquet of chocolate, dark cherries, violets and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, deep and dense, it is enrobing with a delicately grained tannic frame that concludes with freshness, a dark cherries-inflected finish and an ethereal aftertaste. This is a classic." - Yohan Castaing, Robert Parker Wine Advocate

"We have long admired the textural and perfumed wines from Font de Courtdeune, whose Chateauneuf du Pape vines are located in the sandy soils directly across the road from Chateau Rayas. They have grown organically, with major decisions often being made for practical, rather than stylistic, reasons. And the results, from Côtes-du-Rhône to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, could barely be improved upon. In the town of Courthezon where Font de Courtedune resides, you will find vineyards encircled by cool coniferous woodlands with vines working their roots into sandy soils peppered with clay and limestone. This is grenache nirvana, the silty soils delivering wonderfully perfumed and silky wines. In the winery the approach is unfussy but carefully measured, the old vine grenache is handled with care, whole bunch fermented and then aged in concrete with no oak in sight. The focus here remains on fruit and site, not artifice and ego, and the results are wonderfully perfumed, silky and rich wines bound together by sinew and spice. Gregarious in their youth but built to cellar and build complexity too." - Matt Wells, Decanter
