"Domaine la Bouïssière is today one of the few estates to blend its wines from the three crus of this sublime corner of the southern Rhône Valley: Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Beaumes-de-Venise. The Gigondas plots lie beneath the rocky barrier of the Dentelles Sarrasines, on Cretaceous limestone scree: a spectacular setting, but one that demands careful cultivation.
Although undergoing organic conversion, the vines have always been cultivated according to organic farming principles, respecting their natural harmony and balance.
In the cellar, methods are constantly evolving towards greater precision, in a quest for freshness, flavor, and tension. This characteristic freshness stems as much from the terroir as from the use of whole clusters, adjusted according to the vintage." - Gigondas, La Vinaltitude
"A special selection of declassified fruit from vines in the Beaumes de Venise appellation, this stunningly deep and savory Côtes du Rhône is unquestionably a cut above. Aromas of black and fruits, wild herbs; flavors of black raspberries and light smoke. Smooth tannins; baking spices." - North Berkeley Imports
"Not produced every year, the 2023 Côtes du Rhône is a noteworthy release sourced from young vines planted on gray marl within the boundaries of Beaumes de Venise. Offering up a delicately perfumed bouquet of peonies, rose petals, ripe dark berries and hints of herbes de Provence, it’s medium-bodied, juicy and satiny, with a subtly austere edge. The palate is framed by a firm, structured tannic spine that lends gravitas, concluding with a long, spicy finish. A serious Côtes du Rhône that transcends its appellation." 90 points, Yohan Castaing for Robert Parker Wine Advocate
