Description

"A naturally exotic nose freely reveals its aromas of jasmine tea, mineral reduction, star anise and pretty floral wisps. The gorgeously textured, rich and caressing medium weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the equally dry finish that is youthfully austere. This is fairly tightly wound at present but I suspect that it could be approached after only 4 to 5 years, though it should easily develop and improve for longer." - 90-92 points, Allen Meadows

"Voluptuous, buttery and rich, with aromas of ripe apples, almonds and a touch of honey. At this stage, it is showing a bit more influence from cask ageing, although this will likely fade over time. The texture is richer than the Charmes, rich and creamy. This is a hedonistic wine, but there is just enough acidity to bring it into balance. Winemaker Frédéric Barnier blocked the malolactic conversion to retain freshness, and it has made an appreciable difference." - 93 points, Charles Curtis MW
