"The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge offers pretty red brambly, raspberry and cranberry fruit on the nose. There's fine transparency, and it's less rustic than the preceding vintage. The palate has crunchy red fruit on the entry, with a dab of sour cherry and a little attenuation on the finish." - Neal Martin for Vinous
"A fresh, bright and quite peppery nose is comprised by ripe aromas of mostly various red berries and earth. The delicious lighter weight flavors possess an easy-going mid-palate before concluding in a balanced, mildly rustic and refreshing finish. This could use better depth so at least 1 to 2 years of keeping should be helpful." - Allen Meadows for Burghound
"Grapes fermented in stainless steel tanks and near the end of fermentation, the wine is transferred to small oak barrels to ferment dry and complete malolactic fermentation during barrel aging. Batônnage is used sparingly as the wines of Chassagne are already rich. Aged for 11 months in 25% oak. Aromas of red plum, bay leaf tones, earthy and and mineral. Strawberries, raspberries with integrated texture, good mouthfeel and moderate acidity on the palate." - Terlato, Importer
