Description / Reviews

// 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. Grenache matured in old oak foudres from 35 to 130 hl and the Syrah in barriques and demi-muids.

"Primary nose, red fruits, spice and a little reductive at the moment. A bright mid palate with lots of good acidity, the tannins are well judged but very present at the moment. A nice balance of savoury and sweet ripe red fruits. The finish is long and fresh." - 16+/20, Alistair Cooper MW for Jancis Robinson

"Deep, brilliant ruby-red. Finely detailed, mineral- and spice-accented raspberry, cherry and floral scents are complicated by botanical herb and white pepper notes. Appealingly sweet and energetic on the palate, its intense red fruit, lavender and spicecake flavors pick up smokiness on the back half. Silky, well-knit tannins frame a smooth, impressively long finish that leaves behind red berry liqueur and floral notes." - 93-95 points, Josh Raynolds for Vinous

"Round, ripe, juicy and powerful fruit for a 2021. Driving fruit and texture, with the vintage's signature dry, herbal austerity. Very tannic, so wait, but should take on complexity in time. A single unbroken plot near the village of Gigondas, all destemmed and fermented in concrete, matured in old foudres for 18-24 months. No special cuvées, just a single wine produced from this domaine." - 93 points, Matt Walls for Decanter

"The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, sorted on the vines and on arrival, then completely destemmed to ferment during long vatting in enamelled concrete vats. The wine is then aged for between 18 and 24 months in large old oak casks (40 to 130 hectoliters). The estate’s wines are rich, with an intense color, red fruit aromas, and a spicy bouquet; they are generous and powerful wines, a Gigondas that reflects the terroir and tradition of the appellation. The wine can be consumed 3 or 4 years after bottling and, depending on the vintage, up to 15 or even 20 years." - Gigondas, La Vinaltitude
