"(2023) thankfully had a relatively wet winter and early spring as the summer was both hot and extremely dry. The flowering passed extremely quickly, which is always a good thing for yields and consistent maturities. While there were a few period of intense heat, for the most part the growing was very warm rather than blazing hot, which made it relatively easy to control the mildew pressure.
I chose to begin picking on the 11th of September and brought in clean and generous yields of between 45 to 48 hl/ha, which contrasts painfully with the 12 hl/ha we obtained in 2024! Potential alcohols were perfectly good with an average of about 12.5%. While I used around 25% whole clusters in 2022, I chose not to use any in 2023 as I didn't want to risk potential lowering acidities via the release of potassium in the stems. As to the wines, they should drink well young but because they're well-balanced, I have every confidence that they will age well too." - Chantal Tortochot, Winemaker
"A slightly riper nose freely reveals its aromas of red currant, warm earth and soft wood nuances. The exceptionally supple and easy-going flavors also possess an attractive texture if limited depth on the otherwise balanced and persistent finish. This is certainly pretty but it's not deep. To enjoy young." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
