Description / Reviews
"The geology of the middle Nahe is notably shaped by its old clay slate formations and rich volcanic soils. The concentration of porphyry and melaphyre stone in and around our old Oberhausen vineyards – Kieselberg and Felsenberg, for example – help provide the perfect berry base for our Gutsriesling. The high concentration of grey slate in the Oberhauser Leistenberg vineyards enhances the distinctive character of our Tonschiefer wine. By contrast our Grauburgunder and Weissburgunder (Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc) thrive in the soils of our more clay-rich vineyards." - Donnhoff, Winemaker
"Light and racy, this off-dry Riesling is crafted by none other than the Riesling King, Cornelius Dönnhoff. It serves as an introduction to the Nahe’s viticultural finesse and is the perfect entry-level wine to showcase its unique terroir. Rounded and generous, this wine is fresh with notes of crisp apple, luscious pear and slight hints of spice. It is juicy, pure and moreish with mouthwatering minerality. A delightful choice for both connoisseurs and newcomers to the world of Riesling." - Cellarhand, Importer
