Description / Reviews

"

This Eperosa Magnolia Shiraz is grown on the ‘youngest’ vines on the block, though some of these vines are now 38 years old. In the words of Eperosa’s Brett Grocke, “These vines are farmed with the same love and detail as our oldest vines, with the added benefit of more diversity in soil type and vine genetics”.  The vines are farmed organically.

I love how flavoursome the tannin is. It could be more about perception than reality but tannin, in a lot of wines, halts or interrupts the flow of actual fruit flavour; here it feels as though the tannin itself makes a flavour contribution. This gives the wine an extra burst of energy through the finish; it adds bang to the palate’s buck. This release is juicy and mid-weight, though it has a greater presence than those words imply. It feels cool and rich at once. Boysenberry, fresh plum, toast, graphite, old red roses and infusions of earth, meat and spice. This is a $35 wine, and yet it presents as a complex universe." - 94 Points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front (2022 Vintage)
