Description / Reviews
"This Barbera offers beautiful chocolate and clove spices on the nose which become more earthy as the wine opens up. Soft and velvety on the palate with blueberry, brambleberry and raspberry notes. A long finish with umami tones and very fine tannins.
Sourced from the heart of the King Valley, this wine was grown by the Cavicchiolo family at 350m altitude on red chromosol soil. Picked in February 2025, grapes were 100% destemmed before two weeks fermenting on skins in concrete before being pressed to old, large format oak for ageing over winter and spring." - Foreign Friends, Winemaker
"100% destemmed, aged in large format, neutral oak. Barbera doesn't need to shout to be heard. All it needs is this degree of elegance and fragrant styling to impress. Seduces in a deep world of red cherries, ripe redcurrant, blackberry, dried herbs, florals, chocolate and spice with a red earthiness. Brings some serious palate weight, rich fruit concentration and velvety texture to the glass with savoury tannins in play. Finishes with a delightful rush of sour cherry. Wouldn't say no to more time in bottle." - 95 points, Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
