Sourced from Barolo – Cannubi, Sarmassa and Vignane, from Castiglione Falletto – Codana, from La Morra – Rocche dell’Annunziata and Boiolo.
A darker and more traditional style of Barolo here. Dark cherry, walnut, blood orange, mint and liquorice root, some dried rose perfume. It offers dark red fruit, nuts and tobacco, chocolate orange, balanced acidity, a powdery grip to tannin, something of an ironstone feel, with a finish of very good length. Kind of brooding and dark as at now, though the perfume and quality is released given a good bit of air. Needs a few years to relax.
