// A blend of Malvasia Istriana and Malvasia Bianca hand Picked from Parish Hill Vineyard of Uraidla, Adelaide Hills
Morbinos translates to crazy (in a lively and fun sense) in Friulano dialect of Italian. This is the second release of the Morbinos, originally held back from bottling, waiting for the perfect label. Designed by local Adelaide artist, Nick Rix.
"On skins for 4-5 days. Pressed to older oak, left undisturbed for 9 months. 1 month in stainless prior to bottling. Idea is to be textural and accentuate the fruit characters of the Malvasia without venturing into orange / dried out territory. Passionfruit, green mango, jasmine, white peach, exotic spices, scotch finger biscuits (buttery dough), lemon curd, nougat & citrus oil. Oily upfront, into sweeter fruit, w spiced tannin and fresh, racy acid. Textural with a nice long finish. Malvasia Bianca brings the racey acid and sweet tropical fruit spectrum. A loud guy at the party. Malvasia Istriana is a bit more of a wall flower, takes a fair bit longer to get to know, but is interesting and layered." - Frederick Stevenson, Winemaker
"A blend of malvasia bianca and malvasia istriana from Parish Hill Vineyard, Adelaide Hills. Unusual varieties, here skin fermented as is perhaps not so unusual for the varieties. Around four days only on skins. This is what one might call an aromatic, textural white, though when I say textural white I usually mean grippy, tannin-esque texture and here it is chewy but glossy. There’s lots of floral lift, some lychee and ginger, green almond, a bit of salted rice cracker and green mango and light tropical fruitiness in tow. An exotic wine, but intriguing and asserts plenty of interest and urgent return to the glass. Out of the box, and worthy in that sense." - 92 Points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
