// Merlot, Cabernet Franc and some Cabernet Sauvignon

"A bistro-style vintage to celebrate moments shared with friends. Le Petit Comptoir is a vibrant Vin de France, best enjoyed young; each bottle is hand-waxed, a testament to the care taken in its production." - Julien Mingot, Winemaker

"Vignoble Mingot is a third generation family operated winery, on the right bank of Bordeaux in the area of Savignac-de-l’Isle. This is where their historical Chateau Marechaux property is located 7 kms north of the vineyards in Lalande de Pomerol. Julien Mingot, son of Michel is in charge of the operation with approximately 21 ha’s of predominantly Merlot planted, including small parcels of the other classic Bordeaux companions with his heart set on the future of what Cabernet Franc can do on the estate.

In recent years, Julien has also integrated a range of wines with a modern concept named ‘Le Petit Comptoir’; a minimal intervention and as Mingot says ’don’t over think it it, just drink it’ out of character for Bordeaux, packaged Vin de France. This range is comprised of a Vin Blanc, Vin Rosé and Vin Rouge’. Vignoble Mingot is a producer that delivers superb quality and a great representation of right bank Bordeaux ‘in and out of the box', providing excellent value." - Senses At, Importer

"This is a conversation starter alongside being a damn fine wine. Bordeaux is known for its more button down, blazers-with-elbow-patches kind of wines, but this, from a contemporary, revolutionary younger winemaker defies the staid nature of the region with biodynamic farming and expressive, natural winemaking. It’s loose knit but finds a good smudge of silty tannins, shows of cassis, bay leaf and clove spice characters, while feeling medium weight it also sits lighter than expected in the palate, with a cool, bright finish in tow. It’s a wonderful wine, and the defiance of Bordeaux’s standards makes it all the more exciting." - Mike Bennie
