Description
"Grenache from old, low-yielding, dry grown vineyards within the Watervale sub-region of the Clare Valley were vinified separately, and gently basket pressed. The parcels remained separate until the final wine was assembled. Maturation in a selection of seasoned French oak puncheons for fifteen months provides a softness and elegance to the plush velvety palate." - Winemaker Notes
"The fruit comes from the Watervale subregion of Clare Valley. It's a deep and full grenache, lashed with ripe raspberry, tart cherry, licorice, salty herbs and lavender oil scents, the palate more of the same, distinctly spicy, dashed with cinnamon and pepper elements. There's a brightness under the more potent fruit character, a pleasing lift in the mesh of that ripeness and daring spice. It feels even, good to drink, supple and flows well. A lingering fruit and spice finish appeals. The golf clap is out." - 92 Points, Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion
