Description / Reviews
"Laherte Frères’ Blanc de Blancs comes from their best parcels on the south facing slopes of Épernay, a perfect representation of the purity and energy of this area and the complexity of old Chardonnay vines, now around 35 years old. Farmed with respect for nature, the grapes are picked by hand when fully ripe and pressed traditionally. Fermentation takes place in small foudres and barrels with a little bâtonnage, with partial malolactic fermentation and ageing on fine lees. This release is Base 2023, blended with 50% reserve wines from previous vintages, aged in barrels on their lees. Disgorged by hand and bottled as a Brut Nature, with no dosage." - Bibendum, Importer
"The NV (2022) Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs is soft, open-knit and creamy, all qualities that make it a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Even with no dosage, the Blanc de Blancs is quite soft. Dried citrus peel, tangerine oil, mint and chamomile linger on the long, refined finish. Bottled with no dosage. Multiple disgorgements throughout the year." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
