"This release is again made up of 50% Nebbiolo and 50% Sangiovese, all from the Pyrenees, Victoria. Vintages 2023 and 2024. perfect for the base wine — providing beautiful structure, acid, and finesse. Once triaged, the wine was left on lees for 6 months. When disgorged, it required zero dosage (generally the style of sparkling wine I like to drink). It’s a bit unconventional to blend Nebbiolo and Sangiovese together to produce a sparkling wine — yet very captivating, as the varieties work so well together, complementing their strengths: freshness, acid, and tannin from the Nebbiolo ( kind of acting like Chardonnay for zing), Fruit and structure from the Sangiovese. (maybe kind of like a Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier). Sourced from select parcels in the Pyrenees, this wine reflects the tension and beauty of two noble Italian varieties growing on quartz and ironstone soils." - Winemaker Notes
“Puts me in mind of Longview and Little Reddie, but also Delsignore, perhaps the latter more so. This is a delicious, vibrant and convincing sparkling wine; it feels pedigree and fun in the same sip. Pink grapefruit meets touches of Campari, tart red cherry, rose hip tea. Frisky and light, crackles with bright acidity and finds a coursing, pulsating blitz of tight, refreshing bubbles going on.
